About Jana Smith

My name is Jana Smith.  I have a Bachelor of Science from LSU and have spent the past 5 years working at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.

I am excited to now be teaching the Science Lab here at Trinity.  I feel lucky for the opportunity to be here.  As soon as I heard that a Science Lab teacher was needed, I was immediately intrigued.  I knew I had to do this!

I am enjoying the challenge of making the Science Lab both educational and fun.  I love getting to know each of the students across all grades.

My husband, Lanny, and I have been married for almost 11 years.  He is a chemical engineer at The Dow Chemical Company in Plaquemine.  We are both from the Baton Rouge area. We moved to Brusly in 2001 and love living on the west side.

My son Justin goes to school here at Trinity.  He started Kindergarten last year and was in Mrs. Burnett’s class.  She is phenomenal!  He learned so much in Kindergarten.  Now he is in Mrs. Jewell’s First Grade class and is absolutely loving it!

As a parent, I couldn’t be happier with my son attending Trinity.  I feel blessed that he is able to be a part of this school.  The teachers here are amazing, and I wouldn’t want him anywhere else.
